The BS EN 14504:2016 standard outlines safety requirements for floating landing stages and floating systems used for passenger transport and their equipment. It does not cover requirements related to supplies and disposals of berthing vessels.
However, there are certain exclusions to this standard. It does not apply to floating landing stages designed for motor vehicle traffic or recreational craft, as well as for vehicles of inland navigation vessels that are not berthing vessels, such as floating equipment. Additionally, more stringent requirements for floating landing stages used for the transshipment of dangerous goods are not covered by this standard.
The standard also does not address any landing stages that may be required between vessels and floating landing stages. Lastly, it excludes specialized floating structures that are not used for passenger traffic or berthing of vessels.
