Inland Navigation Vessels - Floating Landing Stages and Floating Bridges on Inland Waters - Requirements, Tests
Also Known As:
The DIN EN 14504 standard is a European standard that outlines the safety requirements for floating landing stages and floating bridges used for passenger transport on inland waters. The standard focuses on the equipment and safety measures necessary for these structures. It should be noted that the standard does not cover requirements for facilities related to supply and waste disposal for vessels using these floating landing stages.
There are certain exclusions specified in the standard. It is not applicable to floating landing stages designed for motor vehicle traffic or for recreational craft and inland navigation craft that are not considered vessels. The standard also does not apply to floating landing stages used for the transhipment of dangerous goods or any landing stages required between vessels and floating landing stages. Furthermore, specialized floating structures that are not used for passenger traffic or berthing vessels are not covered by this standard.
