Sealants for non-structural use in joints in buildings and pedestrian walkways - Part 4: Sealants for pedestrian walkways
Also Known As:
The DIN EN 15651-4 standard is a European standard that outlines the requirements for non-structural sealants used for pedestrian walkways. These sealants are cold applied and elastic, and they are used in movement joints in floors in building construction, both for interior and exterior use.
The standard specifies the areas of application for these sealants, including floor joints designed for pedestrian walkways, public areas, and movement joints between concrete slabs. The sealants should also be suitable for areas with pedestrian load, areas used with trolleys, walkable floors, balconies, terraces, and warehouses.
It is important to note that this standard does not cover non-structural sealants in any non-paste form, and it does not apply to sealants used in pedestrian walkways.
The standard also refers to provisions on assessment and verification of constancy of performance (AVCP) and marking of these products, which are covered in EN 15651-5. However, chemical containment, cold applied joint sealants for concrete pavements in roads, airfields, and sewage treatment plants, as well as perimeter seals and seals in wood floors, are specifically excluded from the scope of this standard.
