Sealants for Non-Structural Use in Joints in Buildings and Pedestrian Walkways - Part 1: Sealants for Facade Elements
Also Known As:
The DIN EN 15651-1 standard is a specification for sealants used in non-structural applications for joints in buildings and pedestrian walkways. Specifically, this part of the standard focuses on sealants used for facade elements. The standard provides definitions and requirements for these types of sealants, which are intended for use in exterior wall joints and perimeter joints around windows and doors in building construction.
It should be noted that this standard also includes provisions for the assessment and verification of constancy of performance, through processes such as product type determination and factory production control. Furthermore, the standard specifies the marking requirements for these sealants.
However, this standard does not cover non-structural sealants in non-paste form, sealants used in internal walls and partitions, or oil-based mastics. These types of sealants are excluded from the scope of this standard.
