The DIN EN 15651-1 standard is a specification for sealants used in non-structural applications for joints in buildings and pedestrian walkways. Specifically, this part of the standard focuses on sealants used for facade elements. The standard provides definitions and requirements for these types of sealants, which are intended for use in exterior wall joints and perimeter joints around windows and doors in building construction.

However, this standard does not cover non-structural sealants in non-paste form, sealants used in internal walls and partitions, or oil-based mastics. These types of sealants are excluded from the scope of this standard.
