Sprayed Concrete - Part 1: Definitions, Specifications and Conformity
Also Known As:
The DIN EN 14487-1 standard provides guidelines for the use of sprayed concrete in various applications such as repairing and upgrading structures, new construction, and strengthening of ground. The document includes classifications related to the consistence of the wet mix, environmental exposure classes, and requirements for constituent materials.
The standard also specifies the requirements for the composition of the concrete, including provisions for young, hardened, and fiber reinforced concrete. It covers the specifications for designed and prescribed mixes, as well as requirements for both fresh and hardened concrete, including all types of fiber reinforced sprayed concrete.
The standard is applicable to both wet mix and dry mix sprayed concrete and provides guidance on the substrates to which sprayed concrete can be applied, such as ground (rock and soil), different types of formwork, structural components made of concrete, masonry, and steel, as well as drainage and insulating materials. It should be noted that additional or different requirements may be necessary for applications not covered by this document, such as refractory uses.
