Execution of Concrete Structures

The DIN EN 13670 standard is a European standard that provides common requirements for the execution of concrete structures. It emphasizes the importance of having an execution specification that outlines all the specific requirements relevant to the particular structure. This standard is applicable to both temporary and permanent concrete structures.
In cases where lightweight aggregate concrete is being used, or when other materials or special technologies/innovative designs are involved, additional or different requirements should be considered and specified in the execution specification. However, it's important to note that this standard does not apply to concrete members used solely as equipment or construction aids during the execution process.
While the DIN EN 13670 standard covers the execution of concrete structures, it does not encompass the specification, production, and conformity of concrete itself. It is also not applicable to the production of precast concrete elements made in accordance with product standards. Additionally, it does not cover the requirements for concrete members in special geotechnical works such as pile foundations, ground anchors, and slurry walls.
It is worth mentioning that the standard does not address safety and health aspects related to the execution process or any third party safety requirements. Contractual issues and responsibilities for the identified actions are also not within the scope of this standard.
