The DIN EN ISO 20500-4 standard is a part of the ISO 20500 series that focuses specifically on the safety requirements for compaction machines used in road construction. It aims to address all significant hazards associated with the use of these machines, both under normal operating conditions and in foreseeable misuse scenarios throughout the machine's entire lifespan.
This standard works in conjunction with part 1 of ISO 20500, which outlines general requirements for mobile road construction machinery safety. Part 4 does not duplicate the requirements stated in part 1 but instead presents additional or replacement requirements specific to compaction machines.
It is important to note that this standard excludes rollers defined in ISO 6165 from its scope.
