Railway applications - Track - Track geometry quality - Part 3: Measuring systems - Track construction and maintenance machines
Also Known As:
This standard, DIN EN 13848-3, focuses on the measuring systems used in Track Construction and Maintenance Machines within the railway industry. Its purpose is to establish the minimum requirements for these measuring systems to assess the quality of track geometry. The measuring systems are expected to evaluate one or more of the parameters outlined in EN 13848-1. The standard also provides the acceptable differences from EN 13848-1 when using chord measurements.
It is important to note that this standard does not cover requirements for vehicle acceptance, criteria for track works acceptance, or requirements for Urban Rail Systems. However, certain parts of the standard can serve as a reference until a specific standard is published. It is also worth mentioning that the standard only applies to systems that are put into service after it comes into force.
