Standard ENLuminaires - Part 3: General requirements for performance
Also Known As:
The JIS C 8105-3:2011 standard provides rules and specifications for the performance and acceptance inspection of general purpose luminaires. These luminaires are used for electric light sources with a supply voltage not exceeding 1,000 V. The standard includes incandescent lamps, fluorescent lamps, other discharge lamps, and electroluminescent devices such as LED light sources.
The standard also includes specific requirements, test methods, and inspections for LED luminaires, outlined in Annex A and Annex B. However, for items that have specific requirements in the product standards for luminaires, those particular standards take precedence.
It is important to note that this standard does not cover luminaires used in certain conditions. These conditions include sites with extremely high or low ambient temperatures, sites with abundant dust particles, sites with corrosive gases or inflammable gases, sites with intense oscillation, luminaires submerged underwater, luminaires and signal lamps for vehicles, emergency luminaires specified by Construction Standard Law and luminaires for emergency exit signs specified by Fire Service Law, luminaires for aircraft takeoff and landing and aircraft warning light fixtures, luminaires for medical use, luminaires made to be incorporated into machines or furniture, and luminaires for photography.
