Standard ENStandard Specification for Aluminum-Zinc Alloy Coated Sheet Steel for Corrugated Steel Pipe
Also Known As:
The AASHTO M 289-91 (2017) standard describes the requirements for sheet steel used in the production of corrugated steel pipe. The sheet steel is coated with a 55 percent aluminum-zinc alloy using the hot-dip process. The coated material is available in coils, flat cut lengths, and corrugated cut lengths. The standard corrugation options for cut lengths are 68x13 mm, 75x25 mm, and 125x25 mm. The coating mass is specified as 210 g/m2, denoting the amount of alloy applied.
To meet the requirements of this specification, the steel sheets or coils must comply with the applicable provisions of ASTM A 792/A 792M, unless otherwise specified. This ensures that the material meets the necessary quality and performance standards for the intended application.
