Standard ENStandard Practice for Fabricating Test Specimens with Self-Consolidating Concrete
Also Known As:
ASTM C1758/C1758M-15 is a standard practice that provides requirements and procedures for fabricating test specimens with self-consolidating concrete (SCC) having a slump flow of 500 mm [20 in.] or greater. The existing practices and test methods for fabricating fresh concrete test specimens are not suitable for SCC, thus necessitating the need for this standard.
This practice is applicable to SCC with a nominal maximum aggregate size up to 25 mm [1 in.]. It covers procedures for fabricating test specimens in both laboratory and field settings using a representative sample of SCC. If the slump flow of the SCC is less than 500 mm [20 in.], the fabrication procedures described in the specific standard required for the test specimen should be followed.
The standard also includes notes and footnotes that provide additional explanatory material. It is important to note that these notes and footnotes, excluding those in tables and figures, are not considered as requirements of the standard.
