ASTM F3033-16 (R2021) is a standard practice that provides guidelines for the installation of a single-sized, cured-in-place liner in order to resurface the walls of manholes of various shapes and sizes. It is specifically aimed at manholes with a diameter of 24 inches or larger, and it does not require any excavation.
This standard is intended to be used by designers, specifiers, regulatory agencies, owners, and inspection organizations who are involved in the rehabilitation of manholes. It emphasizes the use of a resin-impregnated tube that is inserted into the existing manhole and cured in place. The practice allows for modifications to be made to suit specific job conditions.
The practice covers both circular and non-circular manholes, which may have varying diameters along the depth of the manhole. The design engineer is responsible for determining the requirements of the cured-in-place liner to withstand external loads.
