The ASTM C1116/C1116M-10a (R2015) standard is a specification that covers all forms of fiber-reinforced concrete, where the ingredients are uniformly mixed and delivered to a purchaser. However, it does not cover the placement, consolidation, curing, or protection of the concrete after it is delivered to the purchaser.

The fiber-reinforced concretes are classified based on the type of fiber incorporated. Type I includes steel fiber-reinforced concrete with stainless, alloy, or carbon steel fibers. Type II consists of glass fiber-reinforced concrete with alkali-resistant glass fibers. The concretes can be furnished either through batch mixing or continuous mixing, and they must be free of fiber balls when delivered to the designated point by the purchaser.
