The practice is specifically applicable to emulsified asphalts that consist primarily of a semisolid or liquid asphaltic base, along with water and an emulsifying agent. It is important to note that the asphalt base may be pre-modified with polymeric modifiers or incorporate latex polymer modifiers through co-milling or post emulsified asphalt production blending.
