Standard EN SampleFixed, Vertical Road Traffic Signs - Transilluminated Traffic Bollards (TTB)
Also Known As:
BS EN 12899-2:2007 is a standard that specifies the requirements for transilluminated traffic bollards (TTBs) used in traffic circulation areas. TTBs can either incorporate traffic signs (type 1 TTB) or support traffic signs (type 2 TTB). The standard covers performance requirements and test methods for these bollards.
The standard specifies the colorimetric and retroreflective properties, as well as the luminance of the transilluminated illuminated portions of the TTBs, taking into account the recommendations of the International Commission on Illumination (CIE). It also includes structural requirements to ensure the TTBs can withstand static and dynamic loading, including vehicle impact.
It is important to note that the standard does not cover devices with similar function but without transillumination or devices that are less than 600 mm in height. Additionally, while the standard does not specify the foundations for TTBs, it states that the foundations should be adequate to support the loads to be carried.
