Eurocode 9: Design of aluminium structures. General structural rules
Also Known As:
BS EN 1999-1-1:2007+A2:2013, with the title Eurocode 9: Design of aluminum structures - General structural rules, is a standard that provides general structural rules for the design of aluminum structures. It is one of the harmonized European structural design standards and is intended to be used in conjunction with other parts of BS EN 1999.
This standard is applicable for committees drafting design-related product, testing, and execution standards, owners of construction works, designers and constructors, as well as relevant authorities. It is designed to ensure the safety and serviceability of aluminum structures, compliant with the principles and requirements outlined in BS EN 1990 - Basis of structural design.
BS EN 1999-1-1 is the first part of a five-part series, with each part addressing specific components, limit states, or types of structures. It can also serve as a reference document for other CEN TC's (European Committee for Standardization Technical Committees) concerning structural matters, for cases not specifically covered by the Eurocodes.
The latest version of the standard, BS EN 1999-1-1:2007+A2:2013, incorporates the corrigendum of March 2014, which corrects the identifiers in running headers.
