Standard EN SamplePrecast Concrete Products: Floor Plates for Floor Systems
Also Known As:
This European standard, BS EN 13747:2005+A2:2010, focuses on precast floor plates used in the construction of composite floor slabs. The standard specifies the requirements, basic performance criteria, and evaluation of conformity for these floor plates, which are made of reinforced or prestressed normal weight concrete. The floor plates may include features such as void formers, lattice girders, or stiffening ribs.
Manufactured in factories through casting, slip forming, or extrusion methods, the precast floor plates are designed to be used as part of structural floors in various applications, including buildings (industrial, storage, public), parking or circulation areas, and culvert covers. They can also be used in seismic areas if they meet the specific requirements for that purpose.
However, it's important to note that this standard does not cover reinforced floor plates with a nominal thickness less than 40 mm or prestressed floor plates with a nominal thickness less than 50 mm. Additionally, it does not address floor plates with a very smooth upper face, as defined in EN 1992-1-1:2004.
