Precast Concrete Products - Floor Plates for Floor Systems
Also Known As:
The DIN EN 13747 standard focuses on the requirements, performance criteria, and conformity evaluation for precast floor plates made of reinforced or prestressed normal weight concrete. These floor plates are used in conjunction with cast-in-situ concrete for the construction of composite floor slabs. The standard includes different types of composite slabs made with floor plates, which can be manufactured in factories through casting, slip forming, or extrusion methods.
The intended applications for these floor plates include structural floors in various settings such as buildings (including industrial and storage buildings, public buildings like schools and hospitals), parking and circulation areas, and cover for culverts, among others. The standard also emphasizes that these products can be used in seismic areas as long as they meet the specific requirements for such use.
However, it is important to note that the standard does not cover certain types of floor plates, such as those with a nominal thickness less than 40 mm for reinforced plates or less than 50 mm for prestressed plates. Additionally, it does not apply to floor plates with a very smooth upper face as defined in EN 1992-1-1:2004.
