BS EN 13369:2018 is a standard that outlines the common rules for precast concrete products. It specifies the requirements and basic performance criteria for unreinforced, reinforced, and prestressed precast concrete products made of different types of concrete (lightweight, normal weight, and heavyweight) according to EN 206. The standard also covers concrete containing fibers, except for fibers used solely for mechanical properties, such as steel or polymer fibers.

The scope of the standard excludes prefabricated reinforced components of lightweight aggregate concrete with an open structure. However, it can be applied to products for which there is no specific standard. The precast concrete products covered in this standard are factory-produced for use in building and civil engineering works. It can also be applied to products manufactured on-site in temporary plants if the production is protected against adverse weather conditions and controlled following the provisions in Clause 6.

Although the analysis and design of precast concrete products are not within the scope of this standard, it provides some information about the choice of partial safety factors defined by the relevant Eurocode for non-seismic zones. Additionally, it defines certain requirements for prestressed concrete products. It's important to note that if a specific product standard exists, it takes precedence over the requirements outlined in this document.
