BS EN 771-5:2011+A1:2015 is a European Standard that specifies the characteristics and performance requirements for manufactured stone masonry units. These units are used for facing or exposed masonry in both load-bearing and non-load-bearing applications in building and civil engineering. They are suitable for various types of masonry walling, including single leaf, cavity, partition, retaining, and external masonry to chimneys.

The standard covers concrete masonry units that are manufactured to resemble natural stone using casting or pressing techniques. It includes units with textured surfaces produced through various methods, such as casting, splitting, washing, blasting, or tooling, with or without variable outline effects. The standard applies to both homogeneous masonry units and units consisting of different facing and backing concrete mixes. However, it excludes units manufactured with an adhesive bonded decorative face and those intended to conform to EN 771-3.

BS EN 771-5 defines performance requirements relating to strength, density, dimensional accuracy, and surface appearance. It also provides for the assessment and verification of constancy of performance of the product to this European Standard. The standard includes marking requirements for products covered by it.

It is important to note that the standard does not apply to storey height panels, masonry units used for chimney flues, or units with an adhesive bonded decorative face. It also does not cover units intended for use as a damp proof course and does not specify standard sizes or work dimensions for manufactured stone masonry units. Additionally, units with an incorporated thermal insulation material bonded to the faces of the unit susceptible to be exposed to fire are not covered by the standard.
