Bitumen and Bituminous Binders - Recovery of Binder from Bituminous Emulsion or Cut-Back or Fluxed Bituminous Binders - Recovery by Evaporation

BS EN 13074-1:2019 standard provides a method for the recovery of binder from bituminous emulsions, cutback bitumen, or fluxed bituminous binders. The purpose is to allow further testing of the binder with minimal changes to its characteristics.
The standard applies to all types of bituminous emulsions, whether modified with polymers or non-modified, as well as to all types of cutback and fluxed bitumen, including those modified with polymers.
However, for cutback and fluxed bituminous binders, the test method described in this standard is only an intermediate step. It needs to be followed by the stabilization procedure specified in EN 13074-2. Nevertheless, direct testing of the recovered binder can be used to evaluate the setting ability of fluxed bituminous binders made with vegetal fluxes.
