Standard EN SamplePlastics Piping Systems for Drainage and Sewerage: Glass-Reinforced Thermosetting Plastics (GRP) Based on Polyester Resin (UP) - Manholes and Inspection Chambers
Also Known As:
BS EN 15383:2012+A1:2013 is a European Standard that covers the specifications for manholes and inspection chambers made from glass-reinforced thermosetting plastics (GRP) based on polyester resin (UP). These products are designed to be used within drainage and sewer systems without pressure or occasionally at a head of pressure up to 1 bar. They can be installed using open-trench techniques in buried installations and are intended to provide access to buried drain or sewer systems for the conveyance of waste water at temperatures up to 50 °C.
The standard includes definitions, requirements, and characteristics for manholes, inspection chambers, joints, materials, test methods, and marking. It is important for the purchaser or specifier to consider their specific requirements, relevant national regulations, and installation practices or codes when selecting and using these products. The units have a circular shape and their nominal sizes should not exceed the maximum size specified in EN 14364. Additionally, it should be noted that the intended use of these products includes installation in areas subjected to vehicle and/or pedestrian traffic.
