Electric Fence Energizers: Safety Requirements for Battery-Operated Electric Fence Energizers Suitable for Connection to the Supply Mains
Also Known As: CSA CAN/CSA-IEC E1011-1-94
The CAN/CSA-E1011-1-94 standard specifies safety requirements for battery-operated electric fence energizers that can be connected to the supply mains.
The standard applies to electric fence energizers that are powered by batteries but can be connected to the mains supply. It also includes mains-operated electric fence energizers that incorporate batteries to ensure continuous operation in case of mains supply interruption.
The types of electric fence energizers covered by this standard are depicted in Figure 101. It excludes electric fence energizers that are designed for connection to a separate battery charger, as these are covered in a separate standard, namely IEC Publication 335-2-29.
This standard provides essential safety requirements for battery-operated electric fence energizers that are intended for use with the supply mains, ensuring that they meet the necessary criteria for safe and reliable operation. For battery-operated electric fence energizers not intended for connection to the supply mains, separate requirements are provided in IEC Publication 1011-2.
