Standard EN SampleTerms and Definitions for Use in CSA Masonry Standards
Also Known As:
The CSA A443-1989 standard is a manual that provides a collection of definitions specifically tailored to the Canadian masonry industry. Its purpose is to establish consistency and uniformity in the terminology used in CSA Standards and throughout the industry. The definitions provided in this standard may differ from those currently used in CSA masonry Standards, but it is intended to become the primary reference for masonry definitions when new editions of the Standards are published.
The definitions in this manual have been gathered from various sources such as applicable masonry Standards, brochures, guide studies, and technical notes. It is important to note that this special publication is subject to amendment after its initial publication. Feedback and suggestions for additions, changes, or deletions in the definitions are welcomed and should be directed to the CSA Standards Administrator.
An ad hoc committee of the CSA Standard Steering Committee on Masonry was responsible for preparing this special publication. The definitions were reviewed by the Chairmen of the Technical Committees under the supervision of the Steering Committee and received full approval from the Standards Steering Committee on Masonry. The publication date of this standard is December 1989.
