The DIN EN 845-2 standard provides a set of requirements for prefabricated lintels used in masonry construction. These lintels can have a maximum span of 4.5 meters and can be made from various materials such as steel, autoclaved aerated concrete, manufactured stone, concrete, fired clay units, calcium silicate units, natural stone units, or a combination of these materials.
It should be noted that this standard does not cover concrete and steel beams that comply with EN 1090-1, EN 12602, and EN 13225. The focus of this standard is on prefabricated lintels, which can be either complete lintels or the prefabricated part of a composite lintel.
