Specification for Masonry Units - Part 4: Autoclaved Aerated Concrete Masonry Units
Also Known As:
The DIN EN 771-4 standard outlines the characteristics and performance requirements for autoclaved aerated concrete masonry units. These units are commonly used in various applications, including load-bearing and non-load-bearing structures such as walls, partitions, and chimneys. They are also suitable for fire protection, thermal insulation, and sound insulation purposes.
This standard covers AAC masonry units with or without incorporated insulation that is not exposed to fire. It also includes masonry units of various shapes and sizes, including rectangular parallelepiped units, specially shaped units, and accessory units. Some AAC masonry units may consist of layers with different densities, where not all layers are load-bearing.
The standard establishes criteria for the assessment and verification of constancy of performance (AVCP) of the product. This ensures that the AAC masonry units meet the requirements specified in the standard consistently. The standard also includes marking requirements for products covered by this European standard.
