The DIN EN 1871 standard focuses on laboratory testing of the physical properties of road marking materials. It specifically covers white and yellow paint, thermoplastic, and cold plastic materials that are used for permanent and/or temporary road markings on highways and other areas used by vehicular traffic. This standard does not include other products or colors intended for road markings.
The purpose of this standard is to establish testing methods for the physical properties of road marking materials, but it does not mandate specific properties that must be specified. Therefore, not all of the physical properties listed in this document are required to be specified.
