Earthworks - Part 3: Construction procedures
Also Known As:
The DIN EN 16907-3 standard provides guidelines and procedures for the execution of earthworks during the construction of earth-structures. It covers the processes of excavating, transporting, and placing soils and rocks for the construction work. The standard also offers guidance for working with rock materials underwater. However, it does not cover the dredging of soils and the hydraulic placement of fills, which are addressed in other standards.
The execution of earthworks outlined in the standard is based on the conclusions of the earthworks design and optimization phase, as specified in EN 16907-1. This design phase takes into account the specific characteristics of the soil and rock materials and ensures their suitability for the construction work. If unforeseen events occur during the execution of the works, additional design work is performed to address these circumstances.
