Railway Applications - Track - Road-Rail Machines and Associated Equipment - Part 3: Technical Requirements for Running
Also Known As:
The DIN EN 15746-3 standard pertains to the technical requirements for the safe operation of self-propelled road-rail machines used on European railways. These machines are designed to run on both roads and railways, and this document aims to minimize the potential hazards associated with their use. The standard focuses on machines within the scope of European Directive 2007/58/EC and excludes urban rail networks and railways that do not rely on adhesion between the rail and wheels. It is important to note that this standard does not cover operator-specific requirements, which are subject to negotiation between the manufacturer and the Infrastructure Manager. Additionally, the standard does not address the aspects of both on and off-rail travel or the usage of road-rail machines on urban rail systems.
