The DIN EN 12350-5 standard outlines a method for measuring the flow of fresh concrete. This standard is not applicable to certain types of concrete, such as self-compacting concrete, foamed concrete, or no-fines concrete. Additionally, it is not suitable for concrete with a coarse fraction aggregate size (Dmax) greater than 63 mm.
The flow table test described in this standard is highly sensitive to changes in the consistency of concrete. It can accurately measure flow values within the range of 340 mm to 620 mm. However, it may not be suitable for measuring consistencies outside of this range, and alternative methods for determining consistency should be considered.
