Standard EN SampleLuminaires - Part 2: Particular requirements for safety - Section 19: Air-handling luminaires
Also Known As:
The JIS C 8105-2-19:2010 standard is focused on ensuring the safety of air-handling luminaires that are used with ventilation ducts or ventilated spaces. Specifically, this standard applies to these luminaires when they are used with tubular fluorescent lamps and the supply voltage does not exceed 1,000 V. It is important to note that this standard only covers the safety aspects of these luminaires and does not specify any performance-related requirements.
This standard should be read in conjunction with the relevant sections of JIS C 8105-1, as there may be references to it. The terms "ventilation duct" and "plenum" in this standard pertain to forced ventilation systems. Additionally, it is worth mentioning that this standard does not currently include requirements for the use of tungsten filament lamps and discharge lamps other than tubular fluorescent lamps.
It is also noted that there is an international standard equivalent to JIS C 8105-2-19:2010, which is the IEC 60598-2-19:1981 Luminaires-Part 2 "Particular requirements-Section 19: Air-handling luminaires (safety requirements)," with amendments made in 1987 and 1997. The level of correspondence between JIS C 8105-2-19:2010 and IEC 60598-2-19:1981 is specified in the JIS standard.
