Standard ENStandard Specification for Pozzolanic Hydraulic Lime for Structural Purposes
Also Known As:
The ASTM C1707-18 standard specifies four types of pozzolanic hydraulic lime for structural purposes, specifically for use in mortar, scratch, brown, and finish (stucco) coats of interior or exterior plaster. The standard defines these types as follows:
1. PHL (Pozzolanic Hydraulic Lime): This type of hydraulic lime is intended for use in mortar, scratch, brown, and finish (stucco) coats of interior or exterior plaster.
2. PHLc (Pozzolanic Hydraulic Lime with Cement): PHLc is a type of hydraulic lime that contains a maximum of 20% hydraulic cement by weight. It can be used in the same applications as PHL.
3. PHL-A (Air-entrained Pozzolanic Hydraulic Lime): This type of hydraulic lime contains air-entraining agents and is suitable for use in the same applications as PHL.
4. PHLc-A (Air-entrained Pozzolanic Hydraulic Lime with Cement): PHLc-A is an air-entrained hydraulic lime with a maximum of 20% hydraulic cement by weight. It can be used in mortar, scratch, brown, and finish (stucco) coats of interior or exterior plaster.
The standard also classifies the pozzolanic hydraulic lime based on minimum hydrated lime content, maximum hydraulic cement content, and specific performance requirements.
