BS EN 13674-4:2019 is a standard that specifies the characteristics of flat bottom Vignole railway rails. Specifically, it covers rails with weights ranging from 27 kg/m to just below 46 kg/m. The standard includes eight different pearlitic steel grades, which cover a range of rail hardness from 200 HBW to 440 HBW. These steel grades include both non-heat-treated and heat-treated variants, as well as both alloy and non-alloy steels.
Additionally, the standard defines 15 different rail profiles. However, it should be noted that not all profiles may be available for all steel grades.
