Gully Tops and Manhole Tops for Vehicular and Pedestrian Areas - Part 1: Definitions, Classification, General Principles of Design, Performance Requirements and Test Methods
Also Known As:
The DIN EN 124-1 standard defines the requirements for gully tops and manhole tops used in areas that experience pedestrian and vehicular traffic. It covers the various materials used for these tops, including cast iron, steel, aluminium alloys, steel reinforced concrete, composite materials, and polypropylene, polyethylene, and unplasticized poly(vinyl chloride). This standard provides definitions, classification, general design principles, performance requirements, and test methods for these tops.
It is important to note that Part 1 of this standard should be used in conjunction with at least one of the specific standards related to each material (DIN EN 124-2, DIN EN 124-3, DIN EN 124-4, DIN EN 124-5, or DIN EN 124-6). This European Standard does not apply to gratings or covers used in prefabricated drainage channels, floor and roof gullies in buildings (covered by DIN EN 1253), or surface boxes.
