Railway Applications - Track - Performance Requirements for Fastening Systems - Part 2: Fastening Systems for Concrete Sleepers in Ballast
Also Known As:
The DIN EN 13481-2 standard specifies the performance requirements for fastening systems used on concrete sleepers in ballasted track. This standard is applicable to fastening systems in Categories A-E as defined in EN 13481-1, with specific maximum axle loads and minimum curve radii outlined in Table 1.
The standard applies to fastening systems that act on the foot and/or web of the rail, including both direct and indirect fastening systems. The dynamic stiffness of the fastening system should not be less than 50 MN/m. Additionally, the standard is applicable to rail sections specified in EN 13674-1 or EN 13674-4, excluding 49E4 rail section. It is important to note that this standard does not cover fastening systems for other rail sections, rigid fastening systems, or special fastening systems used at bolted or glued joints.
It is recommended that this standard be used for the type approval of complete fastening systems.
