Railway applications - Track - Performance requirements for fastening systems - Part 2: Fastening systems for concrete sleepers
Also Known As:
The DIN EN 13481-2 standard specifies the performance requirements for fastening systems used on concrete sleepers in railway track applications. It is applicable to fastening systems in Categories A - E, as defined in EN 13481-1:2012, for use in ballasted tracks with specific maximum axle loads and minimum curve radii. The maximum axle load for Categories A and B does not apply to maintenance vehicles.
The standard covers fastening systems that act on the foot and/or web of the rail, including both direct and indirect fastening systems. It also includes fastening systems with a dynamic stiffness, kLFA, of not less than 50 MN/m. These requirements apply to rail sections specified in EN 13674-1 (excluding 49E4) or EN 13674-4. Other rail sections, rigid fastening systems, and special fastening systems used at bolted or glued joints are not covered.
It is important to note that this standard should only be used for the type approval of complete fastening systems.
