Railway applications - Track - Performance requirements for fastening systems - Part 3: Fastening systems for wood sleepers
Also Known As:
The DIN EN 13481-3 standard specifies the performance requirements for fastening systems used on wood sleepers in railway tracks. It applies to fastening systems used on concrete sleepers in ballasted track categories A - E, which have specific maximum axle loads and minimum curve radii.
This standard covers fastening systems that act on the foot and/or web of the rail, including direct fastening systems and systems incorporating a baseplate. It is applicable to rail sections specified in EN 13674-1 and EN 13674-4. However, it does not apply to fastening systems for other rail sections, rigid fastening systems, or special fastening systems used at bolted joints.
The primary purpose of this standard is to provide type approval for complete fastening assemblies. It ensures that the fastening systems used on wood sleepers meet the performance requirements set by the standard.
