Structural Steel - Hot-Rolled Bars and Sections
Also Known As:
AS/NZS 3679.1:2016 is a standard that specifies the requirements for the production and supply of hot-rolled structural steel bars and sections. It is intended for use in general structural and engineering applications. The standard covers grades that are suitable for welding in accordance with AS/NZS 1554 and for fastening as specified in other relevant standards.
However, it does not cover structural steel-welded I sections, carbon steels and carbon-manganese steels, or steel reinforcing bars for concrete. Appendix B provides the requirements for product conformity to this standard. Appendices A and C provide additional guidelines for purchasers and cold-bending of rounds, flats, and squares during fabrication, respectively.
