Standard EN SampleStructural Steel - Hot-Rolled Bars and Sections
Also Known As:
AS/NZS 3679.1:2010 is a standard that specifies the requirements for the production and supply of hot-rolled structural steel bars and sections used in general structural and engineering applications. The standard outlines that all grades specified in this standard are suitable for welding, riveting, and bolting in accordance with other relevant standards such as AS/NZS 1554.1, AS/NZS 4600, AS 3990, AS 4100, and NZS 3404.
However, it is important to note that the standard does not cover certain aspects, including hot-rolled plates, floorplates, and slabs, welded I sections, steel plates for pressure equipment, structural steel hollow sections, carbon steels and carbon-manganese steels hot-rolled bars and semifinished products, steel reinforcing bars for concrete, and quenched and tempered plate used in structural and pressure vessel applications.
The standard also provides guidelines to purchasers on the requirements that should be specified by the purchaser and those that should or may be agreed upon during the enquiry and order process. Additionally, guidelines on the cold-bending of rounds, flats, and squares during fabrication are included in the standard's appendix.
