The standard specifies that the grades of steel outlined are suitable for welding, riveting, and bolting, in accordance with other relevant standards such as AS/NZS 1554, AS/NZS 4600, AS 3990, AS 4100, and NZS 3404.1.

It is important to note that this standard does not cover other types of structural steel products, such as hot-rolled bars and sections, welded I sections, steel plates for pressure equipment, structural steel hollow sections, hot-rolled steel flat products, and quenched and tempered plate.
